We are so excited that the new year is almost upon us! On January 1st, 2013 the fun begins! Weekly tasks start flowing and we start handing out prizes!

Daily Deviation Suggestion GroupsThere are many +Groups for many different topics, and Daily Deviations are no different! When it comes to suggesting Daily Deviations, there are a few +Groups willing to do so on your behalf. Before we get to these groups, however, there is one special group centred on Daily Deviations: #DD-Catalogue. This is a group that collects those pieces that are featured as Daily Deviations. It is a good place to find Daily Deviations of a certain art genre, resources and more, so feel free to check it out!

We're doing an art creation contest. However, there's a twist -- you must use three pre-determined items in your piece!
We want you to create a deviation including three specific items that revolves around our theme of love:

How you incorporate these items around the theme of love is up to you!
Of course, you may use more than the objects above, but all three of those objects must appear. Feel free to create whatever inspires you! Members are more than welcome to self suggest their own art work for a Daily Deviation, in fact many CVs highly encourage self suggestions. While self suggesting may have been something people frowned upon in the past, this is thankfully no longer the case as we all recognize the need for self promotion in the competitive world of art.
But suggesting my own work is embarassing
There is no shame in trying to get yourself and your work seen. By self suggesting you are merely looking to gain more exposure from a broader audience. Look at it this way, if you're not willing to advertise your own work and get more clients and exposure, who will?
When we CVs receive self suggestions we treat them the same as we would any other suggestion so you can easily treat a self suggestion the same as you would a submission of your art to a group so more users can see the piece. While we do not guarantee that we

Self Suggesting DD'sThank you so much for all the +favs, the comments and +devwatchs I've received and still am for my Daily Deviation "Carried Away". You guys are awesome and I appreciate your support so much!

Now I have a confession to make... I self suggested this deviation to `DomiSM, so it didn't come as a surprise I received it.
I know from being a volunteer that some people feel that DD's should be suggested by others or that it should be a surprise. Well no, not always. Sometimes you have to fight for your work to gain exposure. Gone are the days where deviantART was a small site... you need to learn how to use the channels on dA to get the exposure your work deserves.
These days, I work in vector and the high pecentage of work I upload to dA is client work. A huge part of being a Freelancer is marketting yourself and putting yourself out there. This is why self suggesting yourself for a Daily Deviation should be

It's no secret that we have misplaced deviations throughout the galleries and it's probably the most complained about topic I deal with on a daily basis. My team and I have been working hard to improve the descriptions and thumbnail examples for all of the galleries, and I'm happy
